Gio-Goi is a British brand founded by brothers Anthony and Chris Donnelly in the late ‘80s. They were born into a family linked to the Quality Street Gang, which cultivated a Krays-like status throughout the North Britain in the 1960s and 1970s. From Wythenshawe council estate of Manchester to international fashion gurudom, the brothers rose just in a few years’ time. At its peak, the company was making 40M pounds. After the legal battle with Armani, the company went into administration, relaunched in 2005 and was then bought by the retail giant JD. Gio-Goi is probably the most controversial brand in British history.
The brand’s tremendous popularity has endured and Gio-Goi clothes are recognized all across the globe.
